Our staff has designed countless water quality devices and provides NPDES Phase II Services to 12 communities throughout the Piedmont of North Carolina. Our experience with NPDES Phase II and the Jordan Lake Nutrient Reduction Strategy for municipalities begins at the inception of both programs giving our staff valuable knowledge about the history and the mission of both water quality initiatives.

Under our General Engineering Services Contract, we work closely with Elected Officials, Municipal Administrators, Public Works and Planning Staff for assistance with development standards and the implementation of new requirements. Our typical scope includes review of preliminary subdivision plans, full site construction plans and final plats to ensure that they meet the requirements set forth in the Municipalities Zoning and Development Ordinances. Our staff also works with municipal staff to review stormwater management requirements while providing local leaders with updates to any new policy changes that may effect stormwater management, permitting and implementation.
Alley, Williams, Carmen, & King, is dedicated to helping cities and towns throughout North Carolina by assisting in plan review and construction compliance. Our staff performs daily inspections of construction projects throughout the piedmont, ensuring that contractors are installing critical infrastructure to the local jurisdictions specifications. We also provide engineers and technical staff that can assist local governments during the plan review process to attest that current design standards are being used.
Alley, Williams, Carmen, & King provides on-call services to many municipalities on a yearly contractual basis. When covered by an on call contract, our municipal clients have the ability to utilize our staff for general consultation as frequently as required. This allows for clients to gain engineering advise whenever necessary or to quickly activate or staff for design related matters.
Alley, Williams, Carmen, & King has decades of experience in not only designing infrastructure but also evaluating infrastructure and its condition. Our staff has performed a variety of Pavement Condition Surveys, Watermain condition determinations, Sewer condition assessments, Storm drain evaluations and Sidewalk ADA compliance reviews over our six decades of service. Our technical staff stands ready to assist municipalities in the evaluation of their surface and subsurface infrastructure to create a data driven, non-bias report on the condition of various types of infrastructure throughout your municipality. These reports can be critical when applying for state or federal funding or assessing which streets and roadways are in the highest need of repair.
