Alley, Williams, Carmen, & King, Inc. worked with Wakefield Development Company to design and assist with the construction of 612 acres of mixed-use, residential development in the western portion of Burlington on the Alamance-Guilford County line. The initial design proposed to contain over 2,000 residential buildings and 400,000 square feet of non-residential use. AWCK began assisting the developer with site planning in the early 2000’s. Around 2004, site work had begun with AWCK designing all the on-site and off-site water, sewer and roadway improvements for the development. AWCK still assists various home builders with lot surveys and house stakeout with the most recent civil design addition to the development being added in 2019. Currently, over 1,400 homes are built that use the infrastructure designed or surveyed by AWCK. This development is the largest continuous development that AWCK has provided survey and design services for.
