The Town of Granite Quarry needed assistance with protecting the banks of the lake from erosion. This project included the design and construction of bank stabilization for Granite Lake. For this design our team utilized gravity retaining wall blocks spanning 140 linear feet along Trexler Creek. This project area is located in a FEMA floodway and was needed to repair damage that occurred during Hurricane Florence. The project included the development of a FEMA No-Rise Study, other environmental impact studies, and the design of channel liners that would be stable during the 100-year flood event. AWCK assisted the Town with preparation of environmental evaluations, preparation of bid documents, and contract administration services. This project was completed in 2020.
