The North Carolina Transportation Museum is located in Spencer, NC on the site of what was once Southern Railway Company’s largest steam locomotive repair facility. The site features a train depot, antique automobiles, and a 37 bay roundhouse that includes locomotives, rail cars and other exhibit areas.
The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources selected AWCK to provide a topographic survey at the museum of a two acre area on the site in preparation for the design of a new playground area.
AWCK surveyed the property and mapped existing conditions including sanitary sewer, water mains, telecommunication lines, overhead utility lines, buildings, train rails, lighting, and elevation contours.
