Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc was selected along with DR Reynolds Construction Company, Inc. and Pinnacle Architecture for the design and construction of Concord Fire Station No. 6. This facility is a 23,384-sf combined Fire and Police Station to be located at the Concord-Padget Regional Airport. The building will service the airport and well as the surrounding commercial, industrial, and residential areas of the city. The 1.5 acre site is located along Rusty Wallace Way and on the tarmac area between the City of Concord’s ATF Hanger, which houses their pilot training facilities and the current fire apparatus; as well as the hanger that services Joe Gibbs Racing. Our team provided design elements which grading, storm drainage, water and sewer services. Additionally, the team coordinated with the Pinnacle Architecture to facilitate the layout for the building footprint and additional parking areas required along Rusty Wallace Way and adjacent parking areas for the City’s employees and visitors. As with any expansion project, improvements to the current storm water detention and water quality facilities were also needed and achieved through our comprehensive design process. We pride ourselves upon providing complete project designs, minimizing impacts to existing users. This project is another example of such as all this work will be completed without interruption to the daily services provided by the airport.
